Asgardia has hundreds of thousands of residents spread across various cities around the globe. Tens of thousands of Asgardians reside in some of the largest cities, but it is not uncommon for these residents to be disconnected and not even acquainted with each other.

They don’t know to who they can turn with questions or suggestions, and what to do to realise their ideas or communicate them to the entire nation of Asgardia. The answer to this the creation of strong, local communities where residents of the space nation who live in the same city or district can communicate and coordinate their activities with each other.

Mayors will become the leaders of such Asgardian communities. They will be the unifying link between the residents of the space nation in their region, and a portal through which residents will liaise with central government bodies of Asgardia — the Head of Nation, the Government and the Parliament, as well as our entire global community.

There isn’t long left until the end of the Mayoral Elections, but you still have enough time to get involved!

You can try to become mayor and register as a candidate, or you can visit the elections page on the website and check out the campaigns of the candidates in your city or district and vote for the one you like most.

Good idea! The mayor is a leader of the local community. He or she is the person who will represent Asgardia in the local media, and network on its behalf with local businesses, universities and professionals in your region. The mayor communicates directly with the Administration of the Head of Nation, the Parliament and the Government of Asgardia.

Go to the elections page, click on the “Become a mayor” button and fill out all the fields in the pop-up window for a new candidate registration. Then, all you must do is pay the registration fee (100 euros), and you are an official candidate.

It is important to fill out the registration form precisely and completely. This is the information based on which your constituents will make decisions.

So, first the basic information: your name; where you live; your photo (your face, facing forward, without the additions of your children, pets and other details irrelevant for these purposes); any type of document that confirms your identity (ID, CV, diploma), and, finally; links to your profiles in social media (Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and others).

Then, write your campaign platform. Here, it all depends on your capabilities and your imagination. But, the more thoughtful and well-written your programme is, the higher your chances of winning.

To pay your registration fee (100€) you need to open the main menu section on the main page. Then you hit the marketplace button and push “Buy now”. You can pay either with your card or via PayPal

Mayors are elected for one year, with the further possibility of re-election. This is enough length of time for a mayor to prove him- or herself in that position. And, for the voters to be able to evaluate their choice.ic

Then you still need to go to the elections page (link) and see who has put forth their candidacies in your city of district. You will immediately see all the candidates with links to their profile pages and election campaigns. If you wish, you can immediately vote for the candidate of your choosing right on this page by clicking the “Vote” button. If you clicked on the “Vote” button by accident or decided to vote for someone else, press the “Vote” button for the candidate of your choosing.

On the same election page. Click on the icon of the candidate who interests you, and their platform and a link to their profile will open in a new window on your screen. When you visit the candidate profile, you can write a comment under the campaign text, or ask the candidate a question.

You have an excellent opportunity to help your candidate with a donation. You can do so by using the “Donate now” button on their profile page. It is located at the top, in the right column.

After you click on the “Donate now” button, you will be taken to the donations page where the name of your candidate will appear in the field that denotes on whose behalf you are paying the fee, and directly below you’ll see the buttons for various forms of payment. All that’s left is to specify the sum of the donation and click on the “Donate” button. The minimum donation amount is 10 euros.

Excellent idea! It’s true, if other people are interested in the election programme of your candidate and they’re ready to support them not only by their vote but also financially, you can tell them about the possibility of doing so, or even create a campaign to raise funds for your candidate.

It’s quite easy. Here are short instructions.

You can vote at anytime up until the 23.59 GMT 9 September. As a reminder, you can always take away your vote and give it to another candidate in your city or district. But as a result, only one candidate will receive your vote, the one who has it as on 23.59 GMT 9 September.

If everything is done correctly, then, in a short time, the Central Electoral Commission will count all of the votes, the Head of Nation will confirm the results of the voting, and there will be a person in your city or district who can help all Asgardians in your region with everything that concerns our common goals and building a new space nation Asgardia — the mayor of Asgardia. It’s possible that it will be you or someone you would like to see in this position.
