Soulmates. It’s a term used to describe two people who are destined to be together. However, I have some questions about that concept. The big one is whether or not soulmates exist and what that means for the relationship, but i’ll come back to that later. Another question that I’ve thought about is how far does “destiny” go in terms of the two people actually getting together? Does destiny ensure that you will meet and fall in love with your partner or does it only mean that you’re supposed to be together and it’s up to you guys to find each other? If that’s so, then what’s the point of soulmates if you can’t find a way to be together? That just sounds like a tragic love story waiting to happen.

Okay, so now that we’ve got that out of the way, it’s time to go back to the question of “Do soulmates even exist?” Everybody i’ve asked has responded with the logical answer of “No, soulmates do not exist. It’s just a coincidence that two people fall in love and become a couple.” But the thing is, there are some flaws with that concept too. If soulmates aren’t real, and you can just happen to fall in love with someone, can’t love happen between anyone? What if you could have been in love with somebody who lived during WWI? That thought alone is pretty crazy, but what’s even scarier is that you could have been happier with that person born decades ago even more than the person you are with now or will be with.

To sum up, “soulmates” is a weird concept whether you believe it or not. Actually, love is in itself a very strange, complex, and complicated thing. The best thing to do is just accept it and live your best life whether it involves love from your friends, family, partner, or all three.
