1.Raise a Pet

Because they teach us so much about life. They come, make our life beautiful, we love them dearly, and at some point they become memories. Just like we become memories to others.

2. Live with your Family as an Adult

Most of us leave home at the threshold of adulthood, and return for vacations as strangers. Our friends know us way better than our parents, and sometimes more than our siblings too.

As our parents become older, give them an opportunity to know us again, and maybe influence their lives for the better.

3. Cultivate 3AM friends

Life takes its own path, and we are often left gasping for breath as we cry in-front of a mirror with water gushing from the tap. The friends we can laugh, cry and bitch to without feeling judged are the 3AM gang.

4. Marry someone you Respect

Love might fade, but with the right person respect grows day-by-day. It helps us understand their decisions, support them and improve compatibility in the long run.

5. Save Money & Invest Right

Save money not only for emergencies, but to have confidence that we can deal with whatever monetary challenges life throws at us.

6. Don’t let your Profession dictate who you are

It’s great to work on your passion, but it is equally rewarding to work for earning money. The rest of the time? Watch the stars, paint, play Chess, binge-watch, or do whatever interests you.

7. Become Independent, Be Prepared

We get scared when the road ahead is uncertain. The feeling of helplessness is what most of us try to avoid, and not the situation itself.

Maintaining a house? What if we need to change the bulbs, or the toilet gets clogged?

Speaking in Public? What if someone asks a weird question, or our delivery/content is not appreciated?

Watching a horror movie? What if the child is eaten alive, or the ghost jumps from the cupboard?

We can’t know all information beforehand, but we can be prepared for a few scenarios, and avoid being helpless.

8. Stay Fit and Eat Right

This can’t be your first time reading this. Very very important point.

9. Enjoy Nature often

An average city-dweller hardly sees 0.0001% of Nature’s diversity in his/her lifetime. Nature is fierce and powerful. It might also be short-lived. Walk among the trees often, watch the butterflies and take deep breaths.

10. Speak to those less fortunate than you

Some are struggling to eat a meal, some have lost a loved one, some can’t get over an addiction, and some don’t get the love they desire. We face many hardships every day, and these conversations make us grateful.
