What Love Isn’t

2. It’s not butterflies in your stomach. That’s just chemistry.
3. Love isn’t blind; it sees but chooses not to make a fuss.
4. Love isn’t yesterday’s offences brought forward to support today’s argument.
5. It doesn’t slam doors or smash things. Call insanity by its name lest it be mistaken for something else.
6. Love is not convenient. You’ll be fighting your sense of self-preservation regularly.
7. Love isn’t deceptive, not even by omission.
8. Love doesn’t pick days to be love.
9. It doesn’t steal your joy or stifle your peace.
10. Love isn’t bent on having the last word. That’s arrogance, and love isn’t arrogant.
11. Love does not hate itself.
12. Love doesn’t ask, “What can you do for me?”
13. Love won’t see a need it can meet and look the other way.
14. Love doesn’t make excuses (for mistakes).
15. Love never leaves you feeling hollow.
