The Truth Revealed

My social media feed is full of friends revealing an embarrassing truth or two. Now that this inconvenient pandemic has altered their regularly-scheduled maintenance appointments, nerves are frayed.

You see, some of us women are a tad vain. We admit it. We want to look good, by whatever means necessary.

For some of us, this means permanently black, brown, blonde or red hair, age be damned. For others (myself included), this means consistently manicured nails, expertly shaped, indicating to all who see them that the body attached to the manicure cares just a little bit more about their appearance than not.

Beauty in the time of coronavirus is a challenge. This declaration in itself is an understatement.

The things that so many women have taken for granted have been swiftly taken from them in what seems to be a cruel and mocking fashion.

A touch up? No such luck.

Gel refill? Nada.

Bikini wax, eyebrow threading, blowout and trim? Nope.
