At NOTHS caring for our team is in our DNA. We’re always looking at what new initiatives and little touches we can add behind the scenes to keep our team happy, healthy and well.

Throughout the pandemic, we’ve upped the ante even more, and as part of our ongoing drive to support our team with mental wellness while we all adjust to working from home, we’ve been sharing a wealth of tips, advice and resources to help everyone cope with the general madness of 2020.

Here are just a few of the things the team has found most useful recently. We hope you find them helpful too!

📚 Some things to read 📚

Read tips on taking a mental health holiday from wellbeing platform The Talkspace. The article covers everything from helping to get you out of your comfort zone to switching off your devices and encourages you to take some time away from everyday realities.

The Wellness Society have created a Coronavirus Anxiety Workbook, which acts as a tool to help build resilience during the pandemic and difficult times that may follow. It covers everything from practical tips when dealing with uncertainty, how to change your thought pattern when feeling anxious and helps you set your own goals with interactive pages too.

👀 Some things to watch 👀

Here Neuroscientist and Psychologist, Richard Davidson, explains how practicing mindfulness can change the emotional life of our brains and transforms the way we think and tackle difficult times moving forward.

Have a listen to Headspace co-founder, Andy Puddicombe, as he guides you through a meditation session in a Himalayan forest here. It features all the amazing sounds of nature, for double the relaxation power!

Mindfulness coach and Hypnotherapist, Chloe Brotheridge, talks about self care for busy lives and the best mindfulness techniques for beginners with breathwork facilitator, Francesca Blechner, in this episode of her podcast.

Yoga teacher, Kate Bennett, shares 5 stretches and poses you can try at home before bed to help you get the most restful night’s sleep. She also shares a step-by-step guide on how to massage your hands, which is the perfect way to bring you back to your own body in stressful situations, while awakening your nervous system.

Sometimes taking the time to create a delicious dinner from scratch is all it takes to feel you’re looking after yourself. Check out Half Baked Harvest’s wonderfully hearty family meals for some inspiration for this weekend’s menu, or have a read of Mary Berry’s top tips for baking if a sweet treat is more up your street. Listen to some of your favourite music, pop on an apron and get creative!
