Muhammad Telaga; Stepping out of Safe Zone by Working
Quiet but cheerful, is what you can expect from Telaga. He joined TBRG on July 2022 as a software engineer on probationary status. Most college students prefer to start applying after completing their thesis. Telaga’s professional journey started when he first started working on his thesis. This is his story.
Muhammad Telaga was a kid without any particular interest in technology. Everything changed when his father gave him his first computer when he was in elementary school. From playing games, he developed an interest in IT. Realizing this might change his life, he studied hard during high school and managed to get into a public university. He wanted to get accepted at the University of Indonesia but ends up getting accepted at ITERA.
In the last semester, something happened to him. He couldn’t work on his thesis or on anything else. Later on, he realized that enough was enough and he felt that he needs to get out of his safe zone. He thought that he needs to start working as soon as possible then he started applying for jobs and we contacted him back.
He found himself again with The Big Rich Group. He started to go talk to people and be friends with everyone. This is his first job, so he expected a huge age gap between bosses and juniors. Instead, he found that everyone is the same age as him and that makes him could blend well with the others. He felt like he was in college again where everyone is at the same age and easy to talk to. With this supportive environment, it makes for a refreshing change for him.
He’s now a part of the Artisan team, one of TBRG’s most successful programmers. He said everything was because the team lead, Rifai can provide guidance and support to his team. Telaga finished his probationary 2 months ago, and he heaped praises to his team leader, Rifai. According to him, Rifai is a very good team lead because he can provide guidance and supports to the team. Which sometimes led him putting more extra hours on his job.
When I asked about his long-term plan, he said that he doesn’t have any yet. He believes he has yet to find what he wants to do in the long term. One thing that he believes he made the right chose with TBRG is our recruitment poster motto. That said, “If you don’t fit into this role, just apply because TBRG believes talent should be cultivated.” That’s why he’s still searching for now. In the short term, he wishes to learn more about coding from his team lead, Rifai.
Telaga has yet completed his thesis, but he already graduated from his probation at TBRG. He is delighted to have the first job as fun as this is and wishes to invite everyone to apply at TBRG. His message to job seekers don’t doubt and apply to us. Even if you don't fit well in your role, you can grow to something that you wish with TBRG.
