After a severe heatwave, when rain hits the earth it brings a sense of relief to animals, plants, and humans. When the rain falls, it turns this dry, barren land into a fertile garden. Suddenly, new flowers begin to bloom everywhere.

The environment becomes cool, transforming the landscape and bringing relief from the heat. It also brings peace to animals. It feels like the environment is being made new and vibrant.

Overall, the landscape rejuvenates, offering a welcome change from the intensity of the heatwave.

"The richness of the rain made me feel safe and protected; I have always considered the rain to be healing—a blanket—the comfort of a friend."
— Douglas Coupland

This week’s prompt is,

Write a poem about the feelings you have when you see the first rain. Describe the fresh smell, the cool drops on your skin, and how it makes you feel inside. Use simple words to show the beauty and emotions of this moment.

Giulietta Passarelli shared a beautiful poem about small joys of summer.

I want to invite all the poets from Lifeline. I hope you will like this prompt.
