Tasman to Cortez
Caribbean to Coral.
We are bound by the sweeping synchronicity of oceans
as they wrap our blue orb home
always connected, ever watchful,
the buoyant ebb and flow of life.
Our shortcomings are many, perfectly matched.
Our laughter is deep and long,
vibrating well after we shrug such glee away.
Our tears are shared; blessed few.
Our joys are multiplied
upon a bounty of years
spent in the warmth and perplexity of babes,
adventures, friendships, and frisson,
ups and downs, round and rounds.
We have been together and apart,
never too far to stand in the light of the moon
find each other on the silver beam
spilling into a quiet, tended yard,
splayed wide across a vast ocean,
shimmering the canopy…
