Dark Enchanted Reverie

Photo by Niels Smeets on Unsplash

In the darkness of night
amongst the shadows
just out of my sight
I sense you’re near
that apparition of my past
a dark enchanted reverie
where you’re not dead
and life is as it was before
dementia took its toll
on our conjoined reality
of father and son together
