Empty Pocket

Love is gone.

Photo by Deeside Fleming on Unsplash

The grass folded me
In its lush green stalks
Tears flooded from my eyes
The memory of our soulful talks
Only made me want to cry.

I gazed out at the endless sky
And clutched close to my breast
A locket that you’d given me
When I was your very best
You’ve left me now
And that’s all you left.
