Dearest Mom… this will be the third piece I wrote about our relationship.
Which is romantic, platonic, parental, professional, and personal.
The amazing of your presence, the many facets of your persona, and the strong beliefs you hold close to your heart,
Has made our relationship surface in many different forms.

We have come a long way. We evolve in a way that surprises me, even in this second while writing this.
You were the monster and the role model figure when I was younger,
The two contradictory portrayals that I couldn’t choose which mattered more.

When I was in my late teens and twenties, you were my best friend.
Long phone calls, we talked about many different things, from gossip to important advice in life.
The advice that I held close to heart, your observations of life that I highly upheld, and your strongly imposed beliefs.

Those pieces of advice, observations, and beliefs… some of them I began to question as I went through turbulences in my early thirties…
