Gushing and Blushing

The unfolding

the image is that of a reading lamp that is on and shining on a desk. On the desk is a booklet made up of loose leaf papers.

Blood rushing
To all my parts|
Head, fingers, toes
Be still, my heart.

Seeing the signs
Knowing at that deep level
The next logical step was here.
Masterpiece, he said, I’m to help you write it
Masterpiece, I said, I thought I already wrote it.

Guides — purple robed, smoker’s jacket
Professor’s pipe piping
Ideas, thoughts, words —
Landing smoothly on parchment paper
So mystified me.

Excited, say more
Shrugging, no words — the natural way they communicate
Just an unfolding moment by moment
Me, watching awestruck
Mind-struck when it all came together —
Stroke of genius.
