Wondering through the garden of life,

dismal, disappointed

bitter and broken,

carrying a broken heart,

You take shelter under a broken tree,

its limbs, chewed and sawed,

and you see,

a hole in its heart,

Dark and empty hole, still the tree stands up,

In all its majesty,

reaching up with its bare branches, still showering shade and leaves, flowers and fruit,

Its generosity heals it,

as it heals others,

starting anew, keeping no bitterness,

as little birds make their nest in the hole that was its heart!

You walk away carrying the music of the birds in you, head held high,

renewing this lease of love and laughter for your new ❤️ 💙 heart!
