Late For Work

I think it’s the cutest thing,
When you do your best to tie my tie
Even if you know I can do it myself.

I smile and laugh as you try and try,
Your mind is focused on the knot
While my eyes are on your face.

I had plans today then I lost my trace,
I don’t mind staying, work can wait.
For this sweet moment — I’ll choose to be late.

I told my boss I was late because of the horrible Los Angeles traffic. What was your excuse?
