Some things end too soon
Other things too late
Either way, their time
reached an end.

Sometimes it’s a relief
as we didn’t know
what a burden it was
until it was over.

Some people refuse to change
so you leave
Sometimes you won’t submit
to their control
and they leave.

Either way,
it reached its end
If it ended, accept that
it was necessary.

Whether it be
a lover, a job,
a location,
or friend.

It’s best to
grieve the loss and
and its necessary
end.

Some people hold us back
Some careers we outgrow
And locations —
well, they can just grow old.

Whatever the loss
Let it go
It was meant to end
for you to grow.

If they hurt you
forgive them
If you hurt them
say you’re sorry
and move on.

Some things in life
are meant to be short-lived
It teaches us not to
hold on too tightly
to person, places,
and things.

Choose to embrace
necessary endings
for they leave space
for new beginnings.
