Greetings Poets,

Welcome to the third prompt post of September, everyone. I hope that everyone is doing well.

“Nana always said the rain was nature’s way of adding sparkle to the outdoors.”

– Mehmet Murat Ildan

The monsoon season in India lasts from June until mid-September. The final rain of the season will arrive soon. We all eagerly await the arrival of the monsoon to bring about a pleasant and refreshing atmosphere because the summers in India are very hot. We all smile broadly as we all enjoy the rain after nearly four months of oppressive heat. This is a joyful time of year.

Making paper boats during childhood monsoons is one of my favorite memories from those times. I only needed a few seconds to rip a fresh sheet of paper from my notepad, fold it neatly in half, and the world was prepared to set sail on my “five-star cruise.” Those times have passed, and I genuinely miss them. When it rained outside the window, my father would bring buutta (corn cob) for my sister and me to enjoy.

The ideal time to experience nature is undoubted during the monsoon. This time of year, the city takes on an especially serene and lovely appearance. Around us, there is a lot of vegetation, and we can feel the refreshing air on our faces.

Ever taken a shower in the rain?

In my early years, I looked forward to the rain so that I could take a shower. I still perform this every season. One of my favorite activities to engage in during the monsoon is this. Getting soaked in the rain can also aid in your health improvement. It frees me from the weight and assists in my burden relief.

Therefore, I am here with a prompt focused on the “Rainy Season” as the monsoon is about to end. It’s time to be lost in your thoughts and enjoy the rain. I can always revisit old memories when it rains. Sitting on my balcony and taking a drink of tea while it rains is one of my favorite pastimes in the monsoon. I think that when it rains, it frees us and offers us an opportunity to live. To live life to the fullest, dance in the rain the next time it rains.

“Like the sky opens after a rainy day we must open to ourselves. Learn to love yourself for who you are and open so the world can see you shine.” — James Poland

This week’s prompt is,

Write a poem about your love of rain. Think about your life in general as you write a poem about raindrops slowly trickling down the window glass.
