Sliding down a slippery slope
With more and more momentum
Counting, up the numbers
By degrees and per centum.

Let her rip the pollies say
We no longer care
They say they’ve done enough
As Omicron flies, through the air.

Stay at home and do not roam
Seems the best solution
Wear a mask and do not ask
Where’s the latest air pollution.

I know we’re not the only ones
The pandemic is Worldwide
The hospitals are overstretched
There is no place to hide.

The epidemiologists
Forecast that this Pandemic
Will, soon be so widespread
In time will be Endemic.

Meanwhile, the smile that’s gone awhile
Needs another face
As we learn to adapt to it
Put our mind’s in another place.

States of circumspection
Being wise and wary too
Not losing the perspective
Or standing in the queue.

Being kind to friends and family
And anybody else
Caring for the environment
As the ice slowly melts.

There is no way of going back
Though vigilant we must stay
And to use our common sense
And stay out of harm’s way.
