A mist of mixed emotions this morning,
Strange and sensual whispers in the night,
And even now as the day is dawning,
I can feel the latent tingles of delight.

The moments I always will remember,
A kiss that missed they say’s more than a mile,
Yet still glowing like a dying ember,
I’m still entranced by your magic smile.

We could say that it never really happened,
The groundwork had never quite begun,
The memory will never be dampened,
You rise in me like the morning sun.

Miffed by the mist of emotions,
Swirling in like the morning mist,
Your eyes stared cries of devotions,
In the glare of the sun when we last kissed.

Unreal and rare and tinged with despair,
Is love a lamentable loss,
A riven heart beyond repair,
How long will I count the cost?

I can’t deny the look in your eye,
Bewitched me and broke the rope,
A mist of history walks on by,
Searching the steps for more hope.

Was it your perfume, or maybe the moon?
That swept me far out to sea,
Stretches shrink and sink and soon,
The only one left is me.

It’s something that strikes the spirit,
Deep down it’s the meaning of life,
A mystery of dubious merit,
That makes up a man and his wife.
