LifeMaker is a non-profit startup based near Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Come and stay in our eco-friendly tech hub at the foothills of the Himalays and contribute your skills to the project that will change the world!
We are a spiritual, social and environmental cause initiative that aims to build web-based collaboration tools for the emergent World Alternative Movement — the worldwide network of individuals and communities who want a liberated, fulfilling and responsible life for themselves and for humanity at large. Last June we have completed a successful crowdfunding campaign, and as promised we’re devoting the money raised to produce:
1. professional branding,
2. an interactive prototype of the app ,
3. a promotional video to advertise it on social media.

1. Graphic Artist
Job Description
You’ll work together with the Creative and Marketing director to design Lifemaker’s official logo & branding and customize it across a range of print and digital touch-points.
Key Requirements
— Previous experience with branding, print design and digital design
— Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and all phases of print production.
— Ability to think creatively and bring concepts to life with a captivating graphic execution
— Excellent collaboration skills
— Good organizational and time management skills
— Ability to interpret and apply a client’s brand and design aesthetic across multiple mediums
— Familiarity with the LifeMaker project and vision
Terms of Engagement
— This is a project-based contract of the duration of 2 weeks/15 days from 16/10/2017 to 30/10/2017
— Working schedule is 30 hours a week with Sundays off
— Your net wages upon project-completion and delivery will be 25000INR/400 USD
2. UI-UX Designer
Job Description
You’ll work together with content creators and software engineers to define the developer’s documentation and build a hi-fidelity interactive prototype of the app’s beta version coming out next year.
Key Requirements
— UI/UX design experience
— An ability to quickly grasp and distill highly complex concepts and interactions into visuals
— Fluency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Keynote and other design tools
— Fluency in Axure or other interaction prototyping tools
— Familiarity with creating and conducting usability testing and distilling meaningful results from the data
— A passion for polishing pixels
— Enthusiasm for an iterative design process, driven by group critique
— Excellent collaboration skills
— Familiarity with the LifeMaker project and vision
Terms of Engagement
— This is a project-based contract of the duration of 1 month/30 days from 02/10/2017 to 31/10/2017
— Working schedule is 30 hours a week with Sundays off
— Your net wages upon project-completion and delivery will be 75000INR/1200 USD
3. Video Director
Job Description
You’ll work together with the project’s Core Team to make a short introductory video (about 10 minutes with animations and footage as required) that presents LifeMaker to the world and helps us advertise the next crowdfunding round on the social media.
Key Requirements
— Professional video shooting and editing experience
— An ability to quickly grasp and distill highly complex concepts and interactions into visuals
— Fluency in Premiere, Final Cut or other professional video-editing tools
— A passion for storytelling
— Excellent communication and collaboration skills
— Familiarity with the LifeMaker project and vision
Terms of Engagement
— This is a project-based contract of the duration of 2 weeks/15 days from 01/11/2017 to 15/11/2017
— Working schedule is 30 hours a week with Sundays off
— Your net wages upon project-completion and delivery will be 50,000 INR/750 USD
About the working place
Our headquarter is currently Ghoomakad, a community space located in a small traditional village in the midst of the spectacular Dhauladhar Himalayas. It is a great opportunity for anyone to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life, and get a true taste of peace, creativity and self exploration.
Since the vision and concepts we’re trying to convey are complex and require a deep understanding to be translated into images, we need the candidates to be physically present with us for the required period of time. After the 5 daily working hours you’ll have plenty of free time to keep up with your remote job (internet connection is provided) or, since the weather in October is usually pretty awesome, to go on mountain treks and explore the beautiful surroundings.
Regarding accomodation, you can pitch your tent in Ghoomakad’s camping area for free. Food prices at Ghoomakad (3 meals/day plus chai in the morning and afternoon) are 250 rupees per day. There are ample options for food and alternative stay in the vicinity. Rooms are available in Ghoomakad and the village Rakkar in the range of Rs. 2000 to 6000 per month. We‘ll make sure you have a comfortable stay. It’s a wonderful place in nature, and you’ll love it so much it will be hard to leave!(We talk from personal experience ;)
