  • The World This Week

What’s been happening around the world and why it should matter to us. A thrilling way to know what the world around us is experiencing.

  • Planet Money

The economy, explained, with stories and surprises. Its like calling up a friend and saying, “Meet me at the bar and tell me what’s going on with the economy,” and somehow making that fun.

  • Freakonomics

After a best selling book, the writers decided they had more to say. Truly genius information and yet rightfully called “the most listenable economics blog in the universe.”

  • Intelligence Squared

A Discussion Grounded in Facts and Informed by Reasoned Analysis. It addresses a fundamental problem in America: the extreme polarization of the nation and their politics.

These fall into the category but are so highly entertaining that I partitioned them. I like to play these while running (read: habit bundling).

  • Download This Show

  • Science Vs

  • The 80,000 Hours Podcast

Ideas to design for a better way of going about life

  • Nutrition Facts

  • The Art of Manliness

Intelligent conversation, life-improving insights, and actionable advice without the fluff and filler.

  • WorkLife

Takes you inside the minds of some of the world’s most unusual professionals to explore the science of making work not suck. You’ll never see your job the same way again.

Personal conversations, people stories and discussions about creative production

  • Song Exploder

A podcast where musicians take apart their songs, and piece by piece, tell the story of how they were made.

  • Loud Murmurs (in Mandarin)

A podcast dedicated to a thoroughly modern interpretation of pop culture by a hilarious group of women.

  • Dear Sugars

The podcast fields all your questions — no matter how deep or dark — and offers radical empathy in return. Questions can be submitted through email and it’s a great way to get things off your chest.

  • Rough Translation

Tells stories that follow familiar conversations into unfamiliar territory. Beautifully poetic.

  • Testing: Good Life Project
After listening to a lot of interview-style podcasts, I’m experiencing some fatigue. Still, giving this one a try.

Currently, my podcatcher (as they are called) is Pocket Casts, but I’m trying to find something that fits better to my desired UX. Currently looking at Stitcher, PlayerFM and Castbox.
