Adolescence is always nasty, but I’d venture mine was rocky in a unique way.

family had just returned from a three-year stint in Finland. Although I wouldn’t give up my time there for anything, those years were hard in their own way, especially the first one, where it was cool to beat up the American girl, I had to make friends, and (!) learn the language.
