Balance Sustains the Fabric of Life
A poem inspired by nature’s wisdom ❤
The peacock rises from her sleep and sees
The sky awaken with shimmering blue clouds
Showers of fresh water make the world glimmer
And she feels called to dance in the rain
Scents of sunflowers beacon the bumblebees
To enjoy the nectar from its anthers swaying in the wind
Yet if they pierce too deep, the flower perishes
And only then the pain she underwent is seen
A swan swam in a lotus pool
Gliding through moonlit waters
Chasing a reflection of snowy feathers in the distance
She did not discover the mirage she pursued
It was only her own reflection she found in the melting water
But then she came across a hummingbird
Hovering on the laburnum branch above her
Fluttering his wings as fast as light
Nature had surprised her with its design
And she felt still more tender
When she saw this precious little hummingbird
For was more real than a reflection after all
The peacock dancing in the rain
Saw the forest through falling silver droplets
She sensed the fresh fragrance of the earth
Even as deafening lightning bolts made her tremble
Even as the sky spun its weaves in colors anew
She saw that there was a meaning behind it all
All this balance that exists within nature
Serves to educate us about inner peace
The careful balance that must be preserved
To sustain our health
To let us know the way
The middle path illuminates
A balance that exists at the core of life
A wisdom of the ages
That there is more grounded beauty in fact than fiction
For the swan that flew after a reflection in changing waters
Realized that the hummingbird in the wind
Did not made her heart ache countless times at least
He had much more value than a wavering reflection
That stability is born of knowing how to regulate
For the peacock did twirl in the monsoon showers
But when the storm emerged and worried her
She waited for the sky to clear and lighten
For solace to appear as the iridescent shades materialised
All these unities within nature
Sustain the wisdom compass within human beings
We can prevent words and choices that are not wise
Balance reminds us of the worth of a holistic life
If we can close our eyes from the fast moving world
And return to a wisdom of the timeless kind
Peace would purify the scars of our heart
As we grow to understand the fundamental fabric of life
