The morning came and stayed. This morning, it came without the sun.
Beyond my gated walls, only the cool mountain wind flocked, whistling at times. I sat waiting for the sounds… and then it came, late and unhurried. Now, motoring delivery trucks and the morning radio echoes while los niños y los estudiantes clamor the streets, sounding their arrival with a certain cadence.
Anoche, the sun settled over La Candalaria with pause. Its golden cast and the jubilant smiles of the effervescent locals reminded me of my current accomplishment. I’ve achieved that which the spanish failed to do; I’ve discovered El Dorado.
