Re-Imagined Futures: QM Records Presents

Brighton based record label and events organisation QM Records are known for artist development and event promotion with a DIY ethos.

As part of Lighthouse’s Last Dance:Re-Imagined Futures programme QM bring us an evening of live music and talks, opening Lighthouse up as a hub of conversation and a place to listen, perform and meet.

What’s your event about?

It’s a chance for those who work in music, or those who would like to, to gain a valuable insight into the recent trends and models of PR, touring and streaming. Our industry experts will also be exploring how each of these aspects will develop and function in the future.

What’s the inspiration behind the event?

So many artists are taking the independent route these days and it’s vital that artists and labels have a chance to improve their knowledge and stay up-to-date with progressive ideas in their field.

Why should people come to QM Records Presents?

Events like this are rarely held in Brighton and when they are the cost can deter those who may benefit the most — so this is free entry!

What should people coming along expect?

Expect to hear from inspirational experts in music, from artists to PR agents, as well as a couple of live performances from some of Brighton’s best upcoming acts.

What will culture look like in the future?

As more and more innovative technologies and businesses come to the forefront in their field, such as Blockchain, Airbnb, Spotify, Uber, Deliveroo etc., the way culture will be impacted should be positive due to the reduced need for a middleman, gatekeeper or corporation. However, with social media it is also likely that cultural developments will come and go quite fleetingly. Maybe.
