A New Perspective of Thanksgiving
And a new map for life
It’s not a holiday, these are holi-moments
I have found it’s like streaming a series of ongoing emotions.
The depth of these emotions is cumulative
growing deeper, stronger, and more powerful each year.
Memories of former lives dart in and out
each one informing my heart more graphically than before.
A time of gathering with loved ones
is a time of sharing what’s up for us at this moment.
My 2022 version has never been more jubilant or sadder
The news of the past foreshadows the present and reinforms it.
I now know about the gratitude of uncertainty and disillusion.
A profound knowing as foreign to me as the missing piece of my ancestry.
All the same, I have much to be grateful for this year.
A new journey unfolds before me, perhaps without a destination.
