Meet Xembly — an automated Chief of Staff for anyone, powered by AI

The day-to-day administrative tasks of office life really suck. Scheduling meetings. Taking notes. Ensuring that action items are noted. Following up. Remembering to get everything done.

Some executives are lucky enough to have a Chief of Staff who summarizes meeting notes, follows up with the team, schedules and prioritizes their calendar, and reminds them to pick up milk on the way home.

Most people don’t… Until now.

The first time I saw Xembly in action, I was convinced that the company was faking it. After quickly getting Xembly hooked into G Suite, Slack, and Zoom, I had it sit in on a Zoom meeting. A short while later, I had a succinct summary of the meeting, with key moments linked to the audio and video… just like Gong does for sales calls. Xembly had delivered a beautifully composed, factually correct summary of the meeting, (rather than a transcript), and it had extracted the relevant action items and assigned them to the right people. Soon, Slack reminders from Xembly appeared, nudging teammates to complete their action items.

This is just one of the many things that Xembly can do. Xembly lives in your Slack and understands how we speak. Tell Xembly (by typing the way you would to a friend) to remind you to send that email at the end of the day and it will. Need some time to build that marketing presentation? Send it a Slack and it will find you some time on your calendar. Want to get a 1:1 with your boss scheduled? Xembly can also take care of that.

Example of Xembly scheduling in Slack.

Xembly makes this stuff looks easy, but it isn’t. It takes a team that deeply understands conversational AI, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

We at Lightspeed are proud to have led the company’s seed financing last year and are excited to continue to partner with the company in their $15M Series A, which was led by our friends at Norwest Venture Partners.

Xembly is founded by repeat entrepreneurs who have innovated in this area for years. Pete Christothoulou was co-founder and CEO of Marchex, a publicly traded company, where he led teams to develop and scale conversational analytics products from the ground-up. And his co-founder Jason Flaks was responsible for product and engineering of Marchex’s conversational products. Jason was also a founding member of Microsoft HoloLens and Kinect Camera teams, a primary inventor of open microphone speech recognition, and has 40+ patents in conversational AI and natural language innovations.

Together, Pete and Jason are changing and advancing the way we work and play.

Xembly is magical. Try it.
