Lightstreams Presents at the Innovation Summit in Madrid

AgoraNext Global Innovation Summit 2019

The Lightstreams team was proud to present at the AgoraNext Global Innovation Summit hosted by Telefonica in Madrid on the 26 November 2019. Telefonica is one of the largest telephone operators and mobile network providers in the world with a presence in over 14 countries and we were grateful to be given the opportunity to present Lightstreams on such a global stage.

The event was attended by executives from leading global organizations. During our presentation, we highlighted the opportunities that this transformative technology enables, from improved speed to market and retention rates to new product revenue and distribution channels.

We presented how Lightstreams has focussed on solving two main problems that until now hindered blockchain adoption:

  1. The user experience of blockchain applications is poor; slow transaction speeds, long confirmation times and upfront user fees.
  2. Lack of privacy; many applications built on blockchain networks cannot comply with European and US data privacy laws (GDPR & CCPA).

The two unique products that Lightstreams has recently delivered to address these challenge are:

Lightchain — A fast Ethereum-compatible blockchain that is 50x faster with instant settlement time where payments are settled as fast as sending an email.

Smart Vault — A decentralized data store for attaching protected files of any size to smart contracts that can be programmed for sale to consumers or access can be granted on a need-to-know basis to approved accounts. Users’ personal data is always protected and managed in a compliant manner.

Lightstreams’ blockchain was officially launched to the public in July this year and already we have great projects and applications building on Lightstreams and taking advantage of its features such as gas-free transactions.

Following the event, we were invited to a VIP dinner, where Lightstreams I had fruitful discussions with captains of the industry that attended the dinner.

I came away from the dinner with a very positive impression of the progress being made in transforming legacy systems to blockchain technology and the many opportunities that are ahead.

Don’t forget!
