Lightstreams Wallet: Beta Release

We are pleased to announce the first beta release of the Lightstreams Wallet that is now available on Chrome Web Store for download.

The browser extension is based on MetaMask software modified to support the features of the Lightstreams Network. The primary aim of the wallet is to help the onboarding of users to get started using Lightstreams by not having to set custom configurations as with other wallets such as MetaMask and MyEtherWallet. The wallet also gives the project a new platform to add customised and easy to use features that are specific to Lightstreams such as peer-to-peer file-sharing with access control and side-chain support for Ethereum. These features will be rolled out in the following releases along with support for other popular browsers such as Edge, Firefox and Opera.

This first beta release of the Lightstreams Wallet supports the basic functionality of sending and receiving funds in PHT. Sending PHT can now be done by users in a few clicks with no need to set the gas price (as with ETH), which is currently fixed at 500 Gwei for the Lightstreams Network (approx $0.0002).

The following release of the Lightstreams wallet will focus on enabling the connection of the wallet to browser-based Lightstreams DApps for signing smart contract transactions.

We are excited about the new dimension the Lightstreams Wallet brings to the Lightstreams project and the future possibilities!
