Are you still making cold calls manually?

I am sure you all must have seen rickshaws in your childhood. Those vehicles were pulled by humans. They look something like this.

Then comes the era of automation. Instead of doing labour intensive work of manually pulling the rickshaw, people adopted technology which made their life easier and more productive.

Today we all can agree that a person who had adopted technology is earning much more and living a better life as compared to one who is still doing manual work.

See there are numerous examples where technology has made significant changes in the way work is done.

Remember times when you have to go to your bank just to withdraw cash or make fund transfers. Well not anymore, thanks to technology. Now you can do complete banking right from your mobile phone.

Now the question is why am I telling you all this.

Well if you see, there are still some areas in our lives where people still prefer doing work the old way. They do the labour intensive manual work instead of adopting the technology.

One of the example for that is doing outbound cold calls by businesses and call centres. There are hundreds of people sitting and dialling phone number manually and talking to prospects one by one.

This is being done in 2022 when we have technologies like Automatic Speech Recognition, Natural Language Processing and Artificial Intelligence. We have assistants like Siri and Alexa which can understand what you are saying and respond with meaningful response.

Why can’t we use the same technology to make phone calls and let technology do its magic instead of trying to do everything ourselves manually. Well, there is a company which is doing exactly that.

Introducing LilChirp. LilChirp is a startup which is working on bringing Siri and Alexa like Voice conversation experience over phone calls. Businesses can interact with their prospects and customers over phone call on scale by using the power of LilChirp Voice AI technology.

So how does it work?

Let’s imagine you are a real estate developer selling flats and bungalows. You want to make calls to prospective home buyers and answer their questions and hopefully converting them into customers.

Now most of the home buyers have pretty standard set of questions like, how much does it cost, what is the size of the property, how many rooms, what is the location, when can I do the site visit etc.

With LilChirp, you can just record a voice note for all of these standard questions and upload it. LilChirp gives a you template for real estate which has placeholders for where to upload which voice note recording.

LilChirp provides multiple templates for various use cases such as lead qualification
Template Description provides more details of the template
Now you can just record voice notes for different placeholders like Greeting message, Pitch etc

You can upload list of phone numbers using Excel sheet or you can manually add numbers. With press of a button, thousands of people will receive phone calls and your message will be conveyed to them. When they respond, the speech recognition system can listen to what they are saying and respond according with another voice recording.

So LilChirp is an attempt to automate manual outbound call using state of the art technologies like Voice AI, NLP and ASR. This is very early stage of implementation of such systems. Just like it is very early stage of implementation of driver less cars.

Right now it is difficult for people to trust driverless cars but back in the mind we all know that it is coming and whether we accept it or not right now, we have to adapt to it in future.

Similarly automated bots which can talk and understand like humans are coming whether we accept it or not, so better we start adapting to it. Initially it will be a bumpy ride but eventually, consumers and businesses both will benefit a lot from this automation.
