As a marketing person, i’m still trying to fully grasp the technical blockchain slang , but what I can easily understand is human emotion.

Ethereum Developer Meet-ups in Work & Share co-working, Sofia

Just after a month after I started working at LimeChain, we launched the first ever Ethereum developer meet-ups. Right from the beginning, we knew that one of our goals as a company is to give value to the blockchain community and those meet-ups turned out to be a great way to do so.

Even though blockchain development is still at a very early stage in our ecosystem, we were fascinated by the people we met during those events. From young tech-savvy guys who are in they early 20s to developers with 10+ years of experience — you could feel how everyone is truly united around this technological phenomenon. Being united around anything could be tricky, especially in the society we live in. My curiosity in human behaviour was naturally triggered.

Last month we had our second meet-up. The topic was client-side wallets in dApps and it was presented by Svetlin Nakov — a software engineer with 20+ years, consultant, trainer, and IT entrepreneur. He is one of the co-founders of @SoftUni where he teaches programming to thousands of young people. During that meet-up I could barely understand the programming language, but what I could notice was the level of attention that everyone was paying to Svetlin and how engaged the attendees were. This is what excited me.

After the event was finished, I shared my astonishment with a friend, who also attended the lecture and I remember his exact words:

“Well of course everyone is excited! It is like it’s the French Revolution and we are all part of it!”

I started thinking about this word. What does revolution really means? I think of myself as a fairly intelligent person, who knows the meaning of this word. However, sometimes I like checking definitions of words just in case.

Here is what Google says about revolution:

This simple explanation made perfect sense to me, much better than the one I had in my head. It is not just the act of rebellion or revolt, but much more. A revolution is supported by ideas and actionable items. It is about providing a solution to the problem. This is what excited me in the first place and this is why our community is growing.

This is the reason why we launched Ethereum developer meet-ups.
