Hello, World
Bonjour! The first step to building the best software in the world starts with a teenager in his room, writing a few lines on an empty dark grey file editor. A program which doesn’t do much, except print the words “Hello, World” on some part of the screen. In the same spirit, we start our engineering blog with it’s metaphorical “Hello, World”. The hello world program is not something that is meant to teach you to code but serves as more of a friendly introduction and makes sure you are setup properly. Does your compiler work ? Are your paths correct ? But rather than bore you with dull salad let me go straight to the peppy main course.
We build software restaurants swear by. We have a team of around twenty software engineers toiling days and sometimes nights. They help us build new products and support and improve old ones. We use a bunch of different languages from the ailing granddaddyish PHP to the married and stable Java to the new punk NodeJs. We also use a bunch of different databases, Mysql, MongoDB, couchDB to name a few. We follow a micro-service architecture and use Kubernetes for orchestration of these services deployed as docker containers. Apart from this, we make heavy use of React, React Native, Swift, client side Java and other client side languages.
This blog discusses our adventures in the field of software development. All we are trying to do is start a friendly conversation over a bunch of things that only software developers could care about within our own team as well as with the outside world. Who likes dealing with tricky Mongo production issues all alone ? No one! So dig in. Read what you like. Share what you have done yourself and don’t shy away from commenting if you have any thoughts.
