LIMINARIES Submission Guidelines
Providing a home for thoughts and experiences that defy categorization
What if there were more options than real or imaginary, right or wrong, and black and white? What if divisions between science and spirituality, self and others, and awake and asleep are the actual hallucinations? What if there is more to life than banal reality? Let’s consider.
LIMINARIES is a pun that combines the concepts of “luminaries” and “the limen.” (We are not beneath puns.) If a “luminary” is someone who “inspires and influences others,” and “the limen” is “the boundary of perception” (as in “subliminal”), then “LIMINARIES” are those who inspire and influence others by experiencing and exploring at the boundaries of perception.
But, there are limen to more than just consciousness. We have boundaries between disciplines, philosophies, ethics, and more. Most of these exist for convenience, to simplify thoughts and decisions. It is easier to choose when confronted with two choices than infinite choices in life. Strict categorization is a shortcut. Unfortunately, some don’t recognize this and take such dichotomies entirely as truth, causing, perhaps, endless suffering for those forced to make choices against their preferences.
