While the last 50 houses are being built today and tomorrow, our team is in transition. Phil and Jan have left today and tomorrow we lose Stacey and Kayleigh. These 2 girls have been amazing, fantastic team members who have led from the front and got stuck in to all aspects of our work. Like phil and Jan, they will be missed.
On Monday, we start again with a new team and you guys really have got something to live up to. Rachie, Myself, Portia and Kate are still here and on Monday we start afresh in a new village.
People are starting to hear about what we are doing and we are inundated with requests for help. Myself and Sumit have just taken a motorbike trip to a village, there is widespread damage but the villagers have the money and resources to rebuild and have already began. It is important that we check these things out, we don’t want to waste our time and your money, we want every action we take to be life changing and potentially life saving. The importance of this was brought home to us last night when 68 more people lost their lives in landslides, half of these were children. As the rains start there will be hundreds of these and the right kind of shelter in the right location for the right people is so so important we research everything really carefully.
As if we didn’t have enough problems, here are 2 more, the rains have arrived, tonight is horrendous with huge storms and also , one of our nursery teachers at JJ school is in a critical condition after being bitten by a snake, she is currently being driven to India but the signs are not good.
