A lot of poets lament there’s no money in poetry. Pennies, pennies, they often sigh. Artists starve, right?

Maybe. But maybe not. Could it be that you’re not submitting your beloved poetry to the places that appreciate poetry the way you do?

So I did the leg work for you and came up with a list of places that pay decently well for poetry.

Important to know — submitting to literary publications is not a speedy process. Most of them have open and closed periods. They’ll open for submissions for a while — and then close to review the submissions.
