Comparing good and bad is a really great way to learn. When photographers say “don’t just take the shot, make the shot” — this is what they mean!

1. Sea of Stars at Vaadhoo Island, Maldives

In the first photo, you can almost see the camera’s eye focusing on the sunset off in the distance instead of the water. Same location, totally different shot!

2. Ashikaga Flower Park in Ashikaga, Japan

Same path, different perspective. Makes a world of difference, doesn’t it!
Tip: move the lens slightly up or down. Also, compare standing vs squatting. Sometimes a change in perspective makes a lot of difference.

3. Fingal’s Cave, Scotland

Tip: Really look at what’s in the shot. Try closer and farther. Which is better?
