As far as I am concerned, language and culture are definitely related to each other. In fact, I believe that language is one of typical expressions of culture. In other words, the purpose of the language is to “express” the culture. For example, there are a great number of literary works written by a variety of authors in the world. No matter what things they write, what language they use, these works all represent a nation’s own culture.

Additionally, compared to the profound purposes of the language, its most obvious one would be communication. Imagine, how could we live a life without language? Nowadays, we definitely cannot, because there are words everywhere. When learning things, we need language; when purchasing products, we need language; when entertaining, we also need language! Without language, how could you express your idea? Without language, how could you make friends? Without language, how could you acquire new knowledge? Without language, there would certainly not be any order or sequence, and further the society and nation would not be existing. This would be the most superficial but extremely essential purpose of the language: maintaining the order, preventing the chaos.

But when it is related to culture, we need to think deeply. The first thing came to my mind when I first notice this topic was “what truly the definition of culture is”. From Wikipedia, we know that culture is the social behavior and norms found in human societies. In other words, this fantastic term is actually pretty vague, which can include everything we can think of. Language, custom, holiday, giant works, and even the necessities of life, they all belong to culture. Typically, language is only one of them, but it is actually the most important one.

Another question raises: what the significance of culture is. From my perspective, culture is the crystallization of human wisdom. Culture is the difference between human and animals, which represents human civilization confirmly.
