Word of mouth travels far! In November, our new international partner Ivan Swartz from Valcare flew all the way to Portland, Oregon for a workshop. We could not be more excited about the important work they are doing, and it is incredible to see the vision of Link2Lift travel all the way to the other side of the world. Valcare is a social investment platform that connects funders to over 200 partner organizations. Part of their mission is to provide shared resources for nonprofits in their network as well as access to increased opportunity for face-to-face collaboration.

Touring the Luis Palau Association building and the Palau LinkCenter with LPA President and CEO Kevin Palau.

Before his visit, it was a pleasure to connect Ivan with a colleague at the Luis Palau Association (LPA) who was participating in a festival in Capetown, only an hour away from Valcare’s offices. While he was in Portland, we toured LPA and the Palau LinkCenter with LPA President and CEO Kevin Palau. Watching two like-minded CEO’s from different continents share ideas on how physical space can be used as a catalyst for collaboration was a great moment in the history of Link2Lift. We continue to believe if one tenth of every building was dedicated to common good we can create collective global change. It is humbling and exhilarating to be a small part of the big story.

It would not be a Link2Lift Portland experience without a trip to Nike World Headquarters and a tour by Link2Lift Co-Founder and Nike Senior Design Director Sergio Lozano. Valcare Increases Local Nonprofit Impact through Collaboration

It is an honor to partner with an international organization that aligns so closely with the values of Link2Lift. Valcare’s vision is “Ensuring that social efforts have actual impact.” and their mission is “Activating and enabling social change in community within Cape Winelands, South Africa.”

They do this by collaborating with funders, partners, government, community leaders, volunteers and a membership network of over 200 nonprofit organizations. Valcare also helps organizations determine their actual community impact by using a model that is holistic, sustainable and measured. A future building has the potential to increase the impact of their entire network by bringing stakeholders, nonprofits, and funders together to identify community needs, effectively measure impact, and collaborate face-to-face. To read more about Valcare, visit their website, or watch this video:

Their innovative approach is already benefiting the local community, donors, and nonprofits. Our Link2Lift workshop came in to help unlock ideas about a potential space, and hone in on actual needs and research-based recommendations.

At Link2Lift, we see immense value in helping nonprofits, foundations, donors, and community leaders increase their face-to-face collaboration. As a social investment platform with many connections to key stakeholders, Valcare is in a strategic position to be a catalyst for increased collaboration within their ecosystem. A shared space designed to bring together the organizations, funders, and leaders within their community has the potential to greatly increase common good in their region.

Are you ready to EXPLORE?

If you have a vision for using shared space to increase common good in your community or within your organization, we are eager to talk with you. We offer a variety of workshops within our Common Good Collaborator Model that can help you begin to explore the viability of a space, and the needs of your community. Workshops during the initial phases of a project (often before a building is even identified) are very beneficial to set direction and vision to ensure a sustainable and effective shared space.
