Create a “Buy Me Airtime” page for any network in Uganda.

Whether you want to use it to skip through the USSD menus on your phone and buy yourself airtime or you want to share it with someone else to buy you airtime, here is how you can create a page to let you do just that with Linkist.

The key is in chaining the codes. Instead of dialing *185# waiting, selecting 2, waiting, then 1, waiting, then 1, waiting, then the amount … you could just dial *185*2*1*1*<amount>#.

At the time of writing this, the main networks in Uganda all use the same ussd process for buying airtime using their respective Mobile Money platforms.

• *185*2*1*1*<amount># lets you buy the specified amount of airtime for the dialing number.
• *185*2*1*2*<phone number>*<amount># lets you buy the specified amount of airtime for the given phone number.
