Essential Keyboard Shortcuts That Help To Save Our Time

If you are a frequent user of a computer with a Windows operating system, I think this article will help you save your time by reducing the use of a mouse. Simply, keyboard shortcuts are an alternative way to do something instead of using a mouse.

There are many keyboard shortcuts in Windows. I will mention a few of them in this article. If you are interested in knowing more about keyboard shortcuts, you can refer to the reference links. Once you are familiar with keyboard shortcuts, you will realize that it eases your computing tasks and save you some valuable time.

(1). Ctrl+C

Copy the selected item.

(2). Ctrl+V

Paste the selected item.

(3). Ctrl+X

Cut the selected item.

(4). Ctrl+Z

Undo an action.

(5). Ctrl+Y

Redo an action

(6). Ctrl+W

Close the file explorer window, browser tab, or opened image file currently viewing on the screen.

(7). Ctrl+A

Highlight the entire text in a document. Isn’t that shortcut saving your time? Otherwise, if you want to select the entire text, you need to spend more time on that.

(8). Ctrl+D or Delete button

When we want to delete a particular item, we can select that item and press the Ctrl key and D. Then, it will delete the item and move it to recycle bin.

(9). F5 or Ctrl+R

Pressing Ctrl and R refreshes the active window in major browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera.

(10). Ctrl+Shift+Esc

Open task manager

(11). Alt+Tab

When we are running multiple applications, we can easily switch between opened apps just by pressing alt+tab.

(12). Alt+F4

Simply close active apps.

(13). Windows+D

Minimizes all open windows and goes to the Desktop.

(14). Win+Left arrow or Win+Right arrow

When we want to manage our screen to see 2, 3, or 4 windows at once, by pressing the windows button and the left, right, up, and down arrows, we can maximize, minimize, and split-screen to see 3 or 4 windows together.

(15). Win+L

When we press the Windows key and L, it locks our computer. If we put password privacy for our PC to use our computer again, we need to give a password and press Enter key.

(16). Win+Prt Sc

Take a screenshot and save it to the Pictures → Screenshots folder.

(17). Win+Alt+R

Just open the app you want to record. Then press the Windows key, Alt key, and R. Then it starts recording the screen. When you want to stop the recording, click on the stop recording button. Finally, it will save the screen recording in the Video → Captures folder.

(18). Win+I

Open settings

These all windows shortcuts work for the windows 10 version as well as the windows 11 version.
