August is over, and we’re ready for the heat to go with it. The 90°-plus days have kept me from writing outside, and the lunchtime walks have become an endurance test. But Labor Day has come and gone, marking the end of tourist season for the Jersey shore. The highways and beaches thin out, and the locals take back the beaches before fall comes.

This past month we released two new guides on configuring a custom kernel, and a return bounty contributor has shown us all how to get A+ ratings for our SSL-secured nginx sites.

We’re getting ready to release new tools to make it even easier to contribute, so keep an eye on GitHub. Of course,if you see anything out of place, feel free to submit an issue or open up a new pull request.

Until next month,
Alex Fornuto

New guides:

Nginx SSL and TLS Deployment Best Practices

Custom Compiled Kernel on Debian & Ubuntu
