Our events are free and open to all.

At Linum Labs, our events are community-driven, which is why we always aim to host meetups, workshops and tutorials that relate to some of the most popular and trending topics in the space. We actively seek out new ways of making sure that everyone has the opportunity to learn through our platforms and global events.

Game faces on! Coding zombies is no joke!

Starting at the southernmost tip of Africa

The African continent has excellent developer talent that is waiting to tap into the global network. That’s why we make it part of our mission to ensure that we share our resources and knowledge with local community members in order for them to realise their potential. We provide hands-on, interactive workshop experiences that allow for attendees to ask their questions and receive real-time assistance.

Refuelling stations at the ready.

Why we do what we do

Our developers leading an open floor Q&A session.

We host these educational meetups and workshops for large groups of the community to learn more about emerging technologies. All of our events are free and are aimed at empowering local enthusiasts and developers with the necessary tools so that they can have the confidence and support to start their blockchain journey.

Why is the CryptoZombies tutorial a good starting block?

CryptoZombies is an online educational tool that teaches individuals how to code. All you need is a basic understanding of Solidity(Ethereum’s programming language).

The CryptoZombies tutorial is designed to gradually introduce people looking to get started in the blockchain ‘dev’ space. Individuals are equipped with the knowledge to continue with further Solidity deep-diving long after the workshop is completed.

Our CryptoZombies 2.0 workshop

Our “remote-first” philosophy often means that we are able to host multiple events, at the same time in different locations. This is exactly what happened at our most recent event, where we hosted two coinciding CryptoZombies workshops in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, lead by our developers Veronica Coutts, Benjamin Scholtz, Ryan Noble and Yusuf Heylen.

These interactive meetups are aimed at beginners who are interested in getting involved but don’t always know where to start. That’s where we come in.

Victory never looked so good!

“ I always thought coding on Ethereum would be difficult but attending the Cryptozombies workshop has given me the head start I needed to learn more about the technology. By the end of this year I’ll be proficient in Javascript and Solidity.’ — Tumisang Kalagobe

“The students became the teachers! So much valuable discussions happened after the workshop that we all ended up learning something, even the teachers.” — CryptoZombie enthusiast.

Loom Network, the ultimate creators of the CryptoZombies tutorial, created a step-by-step guide that teaches individuals the very basics of Solidity, to ultimately creating their own fully-functional blockchain-based game.

This wasn’t our first CryptoZombies rodeo, and it certainly won’t be our last. If you were unable to make our most recent event, stay tuned for the next one!
