Two weeks ago a change was proposed to disallow empty passwords for Fedora user accounts. The distribution is known to push boundaries and implement state-of-the-art ideas and concepts in order to create a modern yet stable Linux desktop experience.

The proposal was denied unanimously today.

Furthermore, the proposal to disallow empty passwords at login is to be rejected without any further procedure in the future, according to FESCo (Fedora Engineering Steering Committee), the commitee deciding over new features, the packaging process and everything else that has to do with the Fedora Linux distribution development process.
