Development Update December 30th

And…we are delayed.

I really hoped I didn’t have to write this article, and actually was convinced I wouldn’t until yesterday. Unfortunately we are not able to meet the deadline of a beta release before the end of this year, 2022.

This affects me a lot personally, I’m not used to missing deadlines and honestly have a hard time accepting it, but it is what it is and we have an amazing wallet to share, so it’s heads up and make sure the beta will be available within a couple of days.

For now we are taking 2 days off to enjoy some deserved time to relax and celebrate New Year’s Eve and Monday we will be back again at getting this beta out as quickly as possible, releasing a half-assed build is not how we like to make deadlines.

Deadlines

Why do we even use deadlines? Deadlines are terrible for team spirit as it usually leads to a lot of stress and friction within teams.

I believe people are creatively at their best when there is no pressure at all. But that’s not how the world works. People don’t work for free, funding sources and ‘free’ labor are exhaustible, so some pressure is always needed to actually come to a product.

A lot of companies nowadays have internal deadlines, but no longer external deadlines to keep the outside pressure at a minimum. We did not take this approach for our beta release, because we really wanted to do whatever possible to have a good looking, chainless, wallet in the hands of the community before the year ended.

Now what?

Well, we basically need a couple days extra to iron out most of the issues, but to be fair, we are internally testing a fully functioning beta already, so we are REALLY close.
