Generation Z: What Workspace Will Look Like in 2019
When I envision my future workplace, I don’t picture a traditional office. I see something much more, comfortable. Bright, open floor plans. Walls made of nothing but glass. Collaborative spaces. Rows and rows of computers. Comfy couches. This is what workspace will look like in 2019.
Progressive companies like Google, Facebook and Bloomberg have set a new standard for office space — encouraging employee comfort by offering friendly, open environments and personalized amenities. As a result, we’re starting to see traditional companies update their workspaces in favor of more modernized offices, and in some cases, even offer Google-style perks.
I believe more and more companies will join the movement as they see its positive impact on productivity and morale. In the next few years, we’re sure to see even more mainstream companies adopting these changes.
By the time I graduate in 2019, I’m hoping every workplace will be an open environment where employees are encouraged to collaborate freely while riding scooters and munching on crisantes!
