Vinyl Me Please (E127)
Another month and another glorious pressing from Vinyl Me Please (VMP)!
From The Crates
To say I was excited about this month’s record is an understatement. This month, they sent over a VMP exclusive pressing of There’s a Riot Goin’ On, the fifth studio album from Sly & The Family Stone.
You may have heard me talk about this briefly on the Puget Sounds Podcast; this is a record where there is a beautiful nuance to the record you won’t catch on Spotify. On Side 1… the title track There’s a Riot Goin’ On is listed as lasting 4 seconds but there is no sound. That was intentional, because in Sly Stone’s words, “I felt there should be no riots.”
This VMP exclusive was mastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound and the listening notes are killer. If you’re pondering joining a monthly record club, try out VMP!
