The future or a precious moment of time

A moment, a precious possession, so precious that we actually forget to enjoy the moment.

Unfortunately, I have experienced twice in my life what it is like when everything is taken away from you and you completely lose your entire freedom. The control of your movements, but especially the control over the pursuit of your dreams. Because that too was taken away from me. The feeling that you no longer have free will but a prisoner of society. That’s frightening, I can tell you. Yet, despite that fear, I learned a valuable lesson from these experiences.

The Lesson

I was taught to make plans, to constantly think about your future and not to dwell on the moment of now. What do I actually have, what is dear to me and what makes my heart so happy. Because of what I experienced, I learned to get more into my subconscious. That made me aware of the moment of now. After all, it is the only moment of the day, of your life that can be controlled and felt.

If the focus is only on the future, you will often experience a dissatisfied feeling. A certain restlessness that runs through your veins. This is because your subconscious is constantly trying to signal to you the awareness, we can’t change anything about the future. Stand still, breathe, turn the long sigh into a short sigh of contentment. Look around you, what do you see, what do you feel and how do you experience all these stimuli. How are your senses reacting at this moment? It’s a very cool rollercoaster, I can guarantee you that.

If you apply this more often in life, you will notice that the dissatisfaction and restlessness begin to decrease. It doesn’t really matter anymore what happens, or what might happen. Your subconscious has now placed the thought in your consciousness, which speaks aloud; I have no control over this.

It is the moment of now that is our most precious possession. That’s not to say that your dreams aren’t a future prospect, I certainly won’t deny that. Dreams are a goal, a journey you want to take to achieve your dream. You just need the moment of now. Not the worries, the fears, the search for a reason why you will fail anyway. No, you need that peace, that contentment, which in the future will cause your self-confidence to start to bunker down. So you grow, you dare.

It’s a coherent process, so when you’re back on the street you hear that you have to enjoy the now more. Don’t dismiss it as spiritual gibberish, but see it as a small slap on the head. Like, hey, what do we want again, what do I dream of, let’s make this happen by being who I am. Reflect on the moment again, take a few deep breaths again, experience, feel and see.

What is also the bonus of standing still in the moment is that your subconscious mind is so relaxed and happy. It gives you hints, inspirations and ideas that are useful to make your dreams come true.

So dear reader, live, dream and dwell on every moment. It could easily be the most precious or important moment of your life.

With love,
