January has been an incredibly productive month for every department at Lisk HQ and we’re excited to update you all on our progress. We have been generating strong momentum with new additions to the team, plans for marketing campaigns and strong development output. As the Relaunch Event on February 20 quickly approaches, we can’t wait to show off what we’ve been working on!

The Community Update for January will review the following:

  • Company Update
  • Community Update
  • Marketing Update
  • Development Update

Company Updates

Last month, Lisk participated in two major exchange listings: bitFlyer and Huobi. As our presence in Asia continues to grow, we’ve been developing strong local communities in the Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Korean markets in particular.

Each month brings more firepower to the ever-expanding Lightcurve. In January, we welcomed HR Generalist Eve, Community Manager Jan, Backend Developer Manu, Backend Developer Vitaly and Financial Analyst Lothar.

In addition, the entire Lightcurve team packed up and moved down the street to the new WeWork building at Potsdamer Platz last week. With the help of the WeWork team, the transition was seamless.

We’re always on the lookout for the next big talent to join the Lisk team. If you want to help make the world of blockchain more accessible to everyone, take a look at our open positions — we’re hiring.

Community Updates

Within only a few weeks, our new Community Manager Jan has already had an enormous impact here at Lisk HQ. He has been part of the Lisk Community from the very beginning, since the ICO (he created and moderated the official Lisk Reddit channel). We have spent the month setting the strategic framework and community goals for the first quarter of 2018.

Here is an overview of our Community engagement:

  • The LiskHQ Twitter account has increased its following considerably in January.
  • We added Telegram, Steemit and Discord to our list of core social media channels.
  • We held ticket giveaways for the Lisk Relaunch Event.
  • Our community in Japan participated in a character competition. You can view the entries by simply searching #LiskRelaunch on Twitter.
  • We published an in-depth interview with our newest Backend Developer, Jon, on the Lisk blog.
  • Lisk Meetups took place in San Antonio, Miami and Boulder in the US. In addition, we had our first Lisk Meetup in Seoul, South Korea!

Marketing Updates

  • We produced a variety of content in January, including introduction videos for Lisk Meetups, four blog posts and multitude of social media updates.
  • We started our first paid marketing campaign with the help of our online marketing agency, Expand Online.
  • Along with conducting three interviews with BitHub, Crypto Cynic and JAXEnter, we also had 51 media mentions across the month.

All of the Lisk Relaunch tickets were snapped up less than an hour after they became available. But you can still tune in and participate in the event by watching the livestream on our YouTube channel. The livestream will be available from 8.30pm CET here. We posted a blog entry last week outlining the agenda for the evening.

Development Updates

  • We continue to handpick top developer talent to bolster the team further, recently adding Backend Developer Manu and Backend Developer Vitaly.
  • The latest version of our wallet, Lisk Nano 1.3.3, was released (and Lisk Nano 1.3.4 just a few days ago).
  • Oliver and the Dev Team have been pushing productivity to new levels. Our devs have been working late most days and over weekends. We could not be happier with the quality and overall output.

2018 is off to a great start. With the Lisk Relaunch firmly in our sights, we’re working incredibly hard to make the event one to remember. We would like to thank the Lisk community for the ongoing support and being part of this amazing journey with us!
