Blockchain Fever Spreads In Costa Rica!
The Blockchain community here in Costa Rica is thriving and growing at an exponential rate with energetic entrepreneurs , developers , promoters, educators and even traders. Lisk Central America has had the pleasure of interacting with this community over the past few weeks and have been welcomed in with open arms.
A special thanks goes out to BlockchainCR who has fostered such an active and vibrate Blockchain community here in Costa Rica. They have also helped us with launching our initiative of making Blockchain more accessible and for that we are eternally grateful. We are now proud member of this community and plan on helping Blockchain grow and flourish here in Costa Rica in any way we can.
This past month Lisk Central America hit the road running and held 3 events in Costa Rica that focused on blockchain education and promoting the Lisk platform.
Our first event was part of global entrepreneurship week here in Costa Rica in partnership with the Founder Institute where we presented to entrepreneurs about Blockchain 101 and how they might be able to distribute their respective industries.
The presentation was well received and produced many questions about Blockchain and the Lisk platform. This was also the first time we got to work with the Founder Institute and discovered that our organizations had much in common with wanting to foster a start-up community here in Costa Rica. We will continue to work with the Founder Institute to grow a start-up culture here in Costa Rica.
Our second event was held on November 20th at a local technology university called Cenfotec. Here we presented a more technical explanation of how exactly Blockchain technology works to a crowd of eager students. We also explained how the Lisk platform works and how it will allow developers to easily create decentralized applications.
Last but not least our most recent meetup on November 29th was the official Lisk ambassador meetup in downtown San Jose. This event was jammed pack with the local Blockchain community here in Costa Rica, showing their support for our mission of Blockchain awareness and accessibility. We also had a member of the Founder Institute join us and speak on their behalf about the need for fostering start-ups here in Costa Rica. We also teased what some of the Lisk Central America developers have been working on the past few weeks. Overall the event was a great success and we plan on having many more events like it across Central America. We hope to target Panama and Guatemala for similar event in the future.
November has been a very busy month for Lisk Central America and we plan on continuing at this pace for 2019. Thank you to everyone that has supported us thus far and keep an eye out for more exciting news from us in the near future!
