For this analysis we compared story & topic/keyword distribution across a few different analysis platforms.

Key Findings:

— The official NYT “Trump Taxes” story received more engagements across social media. (You could infer this was because it’s distribution was not limited.)

— Subsequently, the official New York Post “Hunter Biden” story has received less engagement (as it’s distribution was limited).

— The potential/estimated reach of “Trump Taxes” as a discussion/topic was significantly less during the the three day window of the story vs. “Hunter Biden” across social and non-social platforms.

— There was a much greater volume of mentions in other media stories of “Trump Taxes” during the three day window vs. “Hunter Biden”

— The limited Hunter Biden story has received ~1.9 million total facebook interactions, and ~362,000 influencer shares

— The free to share Trump Taxes story has received ~5.4 million FB interactions ~474,000 influencers shares.

Social Intelligence

Despite the difference in limited distribution of the main articles, according Brand 24’s social intelligence tool, during the three day story window (which we are still in at the time of this post for the Hunter Biden story) the potential social and non-social reach as a topic of “Hunter Biden” is far more than “Trump Taxes.”

According to Harvard and MIT’s Media Cloud platform, during the same three day window of initial publication there were 1,139 other publications that mention “Hunter Biden” and 2,887 other publications that mention “Trump Taxes.”
